Bibliographical description

A vivid 1936 album outside the royal Babar trilogy.

The title page and family inscription establish a 1936 copy. The original pictorial boards and bright yellow elephant-pattern endpapers survive.

The precise printing state still depends on the printer’s imprint, so the catalogue does not overstate it as a confirmed first printing. It is offered separately from the three Babar albums.

Condition and checks

A complete visual presence with a vulnerable hinge.

Binding

The front hinge is split and the sewing is visible. Do not open the album flat.

Boards

Corners and edges rubbed, with surface marks and light staining.

Interior

Colour illustrations remain attractive; occasional marks and family inscription present.
