Bibliographical description

A layered early-modern volume with political and religious resonance.

The principal text is anonymous and has sometimes been associated with Jean de Hainaut. It includes an address by Jean Crespin and a continuation linked to Jean Taffin the Younger, followed by Paul Eber’s history of the Jewish people.

The dedication to Maurice of Nassau and the States of Zeeland ends with Antoine Molckeman’s signature and the date 18 January 1605. The main title leaf is absent, so the description remains deliberately cautious.

Condition and checks

A substantial survival with major structural and surface wear.

Binding

Old calf, heavily worn and broken, with damaged joints, exposed structure and old repairs.
